Introduction to Biomechanical Assessment
About
This interactive 1 day course is ideally suited for novice to intermediate clinicians, who wish to have a better understanding surrounding basic biomechanics and musculoskeletal podiatry. This course relies upon group work and discussion and is highly centred around skill application and information that can be applied in clinic rather than theory.
Learning Outcomes
- To have a solid understanding of the most commonly used biomechanical models.
- To understand diagnostic/MSK assessment, palpation skills and basic tissue stress.
- The practitioner will be shown and have the opportunity to practise under supervision a mix of soft tissue and joint mobilisation techniques that can be employed in treatment plantar fascial conditions.
- To be able to carry out basic biomechanical tests to refine your prescriptions for better outcomes.
- To be able to confidently relate the assessment and diagnostic variables to prescription on treatment variables.
- To have a good understanding of common causes of foot pain.
